Business Intelligence Analyst, ICF International

ICF International is seeking a Business Systems Analyst who will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.  Key components to this role include ensuring customer support expectations are met or exceeded, service levels are achieved, and that standards and processes are followed to provide effective customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the analysis of existing or proposed business applications and designs applications and systems to address requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training or work experience.
  • 8 years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience.
  • Proficient in the use of SQL Server Business Intelligence.
  • MCSE certification

 

Preferred Skills:

  • MCSE Business Intelligence certification highly desirable
  • Experience with DAX preferred

Managed Security Services (MSS) – Symantec Security Monitoring Services provides real-time monitoring and analysis of network environments. Client security data from firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), host-based IPS and IDS, and other devices is monitored and analyzed by Symantec security specialists 24 hours a day. The DBA team is responsible for the management of a SQL Server OLTP 1,000+ distributed database system, consisting of databases ranging in size from small-medium to VLDBs ( > 2 TB).

DeepSight Threat Management System and Early Warning Services (TMS) – The TMS system analyzes the threat trend on a real time basis and provides early warning of active attacks. The security events data is collected from over 40,000 registered firewall and IDS sensors located in more than 180 countries. This information is combined with Symantec's vulnerability database of 13,000 entries - the world's largest - covering over 35,000 versions of applications and operating systems from more than 4,200 vendors to provide early warning for our customers. The DBA team is responsible for the management of multiple high performance SQLServer clusters that support a total data store of over 30 TB.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

* Performing daily maintenance including backing up and optimizing SQL Server databases;
* Automation of MS SQL Server maintenance and alerting;
* Monitoring failed and long running MS SQL Server jobs;
* Monitoring performance of complex Peer-to-Peer replication topology;
* Reviewing code for deployment at a high level to determine risk for production deployment;
* Working with the development and QA team to optimize application performance;
